Robert Sheldon stands among today's most widely performed composers of wind band repertoire. He serves as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has received accolades from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. His compositions connect profoundly with performers and listeners, earning performances on concert stages and competition circuits worldwide.
Sheldon maintains an active schedule creating new works through commissions and producing multiple publications for concert band annually. He frequently guest conducts All-State and Regional Honor Bands while also working as a music education clinician at colleges, universities, and state music education conferences. His conducting experience spans the United States and international venues including Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China, with performances of his music presented at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
In recognition of his contributions to music education and composition, VanderCook College of Music awarded Sheldon an honorary doctorate in 2020.

Peter Loel Boonshaft stands as one of today's most dynamic voices in music education, having presented and conducted throughout all fifty states and internationally. Recognized as the inaugural recipient of the George M. Parks Award for Leadership in Music Education from the National Association for Music Education and Music For All, he currently serves as Director of Education for Jupiter Band Instruments. His weekly "Boonshaft's Blog" continues to reach and motivate music teachers across the country.
His accomplishments have earned him extraordinary recognition, including gubernatorial proclamations from five states and a Certificate of Appreciation from former President Ronald Reagan. He has performed for former Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, as well as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Among his academic honors are membership in Pi Kappa Lambda and Alpha Chi, multiple University of Hartford awards including the Outstanding Music Educator Award and the Regent's Award (twice), three designations as a National Endowment for the Arts Artist in Residence, and the Al G. Wright Award of Distinction from Women Band Directors International.
A Professor Emeritus of Music at Hofstra University, Boonshaft holds a Bachelor of Music (Summa Cum Laude), Master of Music Education in Conducting, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree. He completed additional study at the Kodály Musical Training Institute through a Connecticut General Fellowship. Early in his career, he taught at Moravian College and the University of Hartford while founding and directing both the Pennsylvania Youth Honors Concert Band and the Connecticut Valley Youth Wind Ensemble.

Throughout his career, he has performed and recorded internationally with numerous renowned entertainers and productions, establishing himself as a prolific creator of original works and arrangements.
With more than 60 published compositions and arrangements through major music publishers, Black has earned widespread recognition for his contributions to music education and performance. His accolades include 26 consecutive ASCAP Popular Composer Awards, two GRAMMY Award participation/nomination certificates, the Percussive Arts Society President's Industry Award, a Modern Drummer Readers Poll award, two Drum! Magazine Drummie! awards, and a certified Gold Record for Alfred's Drum Method, Book 1. His compositions have also been featured as source material in television shows and films, including the feature film Drumline.
