Alfred's Drum Method

Dave Black is a percussionist and composer who studied at California State University, Northridge. His prolific output includes over 60 published compositions and arrangements with major publishers, many of which have been recorded and awarded. He authored the core method books that define this series.

Jay Wanamaker has spent decades in music education and industry, authoring more than 50 publications including textbooks and method books. His experience spans from teaching marching bands at the 1984 Olympic Opening Ceremonies and Super Bowl XXIII to university-level instruction at USC Thornton.

Mark Powers brings a broad teaching philosophy to percussion instruction, having worked with students across North America and internationally in schools, correctional facilities, and organizations. Beyond drumming, he speaks on rhythm-based leadership and team building, bringing that perspective to his educational materials.
