Robert Sheldon stands among today's most widely performed composers of wind band music. He serves as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has earned numerous accolades from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. His compositions speak to both performers and audiences through a distinctive artistic voice that has made his work a staple on concert stages and competition programs globally.
Each year, Sheldon produces fresh publications for concert band while also accepting commissions for new compositions. His music has been performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music honored him with a honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to music.

Dr. Boonshaft's leadership has earned him numerous distinctions. He was the inaugural recipient of the George M. Parks Award for Leadership in Music Education from the National Association for Music Education and Music For All. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Music (Summa Cum Laude), Master of Music Education in Conducting, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree, along with a Certificate from the Kodály Musical Training Institute. He has served as Professor Emeritus of Music at Hofstra University and previously taught at Moravian College and the University of Hartford.
Recognition of his contributions spans multiple institutions and governmental bodies. He holds membership in Pi Kappa Lambda and Alpha Chi, has received the University of Hartford's Regent's Award twice and its Outstanding Music Educator Award, and was selected three times as a National Endowment for the Arts Artist in Residence. State governors have presented him with official proclamations, and he has performed for former Presidents Clinton and George H. W. Bush as well as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Dr. Boonshaft founded both the Pennsylvania Youth Honors Concert Band and the Connecticut Valley Youth Wind Ensemble.

Phillips has authored over 25 instructional book series, including all six levels of Sound Innovations and innovative eclectic style publications such as Fiddlers Philharmonic, Jazz Philharmonic, Rock Philharmonic, and Mariachi Philharmonic. He holds more than 200 published compositions for orchestras and bands to his name and is an award-winning ASCAP composer. His pieces are regularly featured at the Midwest Clinic, and his instructional DVDs, String Clinics to Go, have become teaching tools for thousands of educators.
During 27 years in Saline, Michigan, Phillips built a nationally recognized string program serving over 700 students in both classical and eclectic musical traditions. He founded the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic, which performed over 80 shows annually and gained international prominence through multiple White House performances and regular Midwest Clinic appearances.
