His compositions are heard worldwide and regularly appear on international concert and contest programs.
Sheldon maintains an active schedule creating new commissions and producing multiple publications for concert band annually. He frequently guests conduct All-State and Regional Honor Bands while also serving as a clinician at colleges, universities, and state music education conferences. His conducting and teaching work has taken him throughout the United States and internationally to Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China.
His performances have been featured at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music honored him with a doctorate degree.
