Robert Sheldon stands among today's most frequently performed composers of wind band music. He serves as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. His compositions resonate with both ensembles and audiences through their expressive depth and have been performed internationally across concert stages and competition circuits.
Sheldon maintains an active commission schedule while producing numerous concert band publications annually. His guest conducting appearances include All-State and Regional Honor Bands, and he regularly presents clinician sessions at universities and state music education conferences throughout the country. He has worked as a conductor and clinician across the United States and internationally in Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China.
