Author Spotlight
Dennis Alexander spent 24 years teaching piano pedagogy at the University of Montana before becoming one of the world's most prolific composers of educational piano music. Gayle Kowalchyk holds degrees in both piano performance and pedagogy from top institutions, including an Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University. She currently teaches piano and piano pedagogy at California State University, Northridge, bringing active teaching experience directly into the course design.
E. L. Lancaster served as Executive Editor of Piano for Alfred Music and taught piano pedagogy and group piano at the University of Oklahoma for nearly 20 years. His background coordinating group piano programs informs the approachable, inclusive design of these lesson books.
Martha Mier is an internationally recognized composer whose educational piano music spans multiple series for Alfred. Her work includes the popular Jazz, Rags & Blues and Romantic Impressions series, bringing variety and real-world musical styles into student repertoire at all levels.
