About the Author: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped generations of piano students through his prolific output of pedagogical repertoire. Since partnering with Alfred Music Publishing in 1986, he has composed over 400 works and recordings that have established him as a leading voice in educational piano literature. His career spans four decades of university teaching, including 24 years at the University of Montana where he taught piano pedagogy and chaired the piano department, followed by faculty positions at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge.

Beyond the classroom, Alexander maintains an active performance schedule as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. He has appeared at Carnegie Recital Hall, collaborated with internationally recognized artists, and conducted master classes at national conventions. His work has earned commissions from numerous music organizations, and his influence extends globally through clinician appearances and teaching tours across Asia and North America. He currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he continues composing and developing curriculum for Alfred Music Publishing.
