Dr. Willard A. Palmer was a prolific composer who wrote 789 published works across multiple instruments, including piano methods, guitar methods, and choral works translated into German, Japanese, French, Dutch, and Spanish. His foundational role in creating Alfred's Basic Piano Library makes him central to this collection. Morton Manus served as president of Alfred Music Publishing from 1952 to 2016 and shaped the company's direction during its most influential decades, having inherited a publishing legacy that traces back to 1922 and the founding of what became Alfred Music. Dr. Amanda Vick Lethco co-authored the Alfred's Basic Piano Library method alongside Palmer and Manus and brought deep pedagogical expertise, having studied at Juilliard and Northwestern and later served as Professor Emeritus of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Texas at Austin.
