Kirby Shaw

Kirby Shaw has established himself as one of choral music's most prolific and sought-after voices, bringing his arrangements to singers across six continents. A classically trained composer and conductor with degrees in music education, choral composition, and choral conducting, Shaw founded and directed acclaimed vocal jazz ensembles at College of the Siskiyous, Colorado State University, and the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and currently directs the Jefferson State Choral Coalition at Southern Oregon University.

With more than 2,500 choral arrangements and compositions published worldwide, Shaw's work has sold nearly 20 million copies and garnered multiple ASCAP awards. He has studied vocal improvisation with jazz luminaries including Bobby McFerrin, Mark Murphy, and Al Jarreau, and has overseen the production of hundreds of educational recordings. Beyond his prolific output as a composer and arranger, Shaw co-wrote the original musical Scroogical with his wife Markita, adapting Dickens' A Christmas Carol for the stage.
