Andy Beck

Andy Beck directs choral publications at Alfred Music and has composed and arranged more than 450 choral works now in active performance. His output spans secular and sacred repertoire, vocal resources for ensemble singing, and children's musicals; his pedagogical contributions include widely adopted sight-singing curricula and vocal technique resources used in rehearsals nationwide. A trained tenor with degrees in music education from Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University, Beck remains active as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator for honor choirs and all-state ensembles across the country.

Beyond the page, Beck's music appears constantly in performance; a simple search reveals his choral works sung by ensembles of every age and ability level worldwide. He directs the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir, maintains a long history as an Alfred studio singer dating to 1992, and continues to work with musical theatre.
