Sound Innovations: Sound Percussion

Dave Black's snare drum and bass drum method book remains the most widely adopted in this series, followed closely by the mallet percussion and timpani volumes. The Sound Percussion Ensembles books let students apply what they've learned in the methods through mallet, snare/bass drum, and accessory percussion arrangements. The teacher's book provides the guidance and online media access needed to manage individual and group instruction effectively.

Dave Black is a percussionist and composer with a degree in percussion performance from California State University, Northridge. His background performing and recording with established entertainers and touring shows informs his pedagogical approach. With over 60 compositions and arrangements published by major music publishers, Black brings both performance experience and compositional skill to the Sound Percussion series.
