Sound Innovations for Orchestra: Creative Warm-Ups

Bob Phillips is one of the most prolific educational composers for strings today. His work spans all six levels of the Sound Innovations series, and his books are in use by thousands of string students annually. He has built his reputation on understanding how large group string instruction works in real classrooms.

Kirk Moss brings institutional expertise to this series as Vice Provost at University of Northwestern–St. Paul and a past national president of the American String Teachers Association. His leadership in string education and his work chairing the ASTA National Orchestra Festival informed how these warm-ups connect to ensemble performance.

Stephen Benham is Professor of Music Education and Chair of Performance at Duquesne University's Mary Pappert School of Music. He teaches string pedagogy at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and his classroom experience across Oregon, Michigan, and New York shaped the practical design of these warm-up materials.
