Donald Moore

Donald Moore brings both scholarly grounding and prolific output to American choral music. Trained in organ performance at Kent State University and holding a Master of Arts in Teaching, he has placed over 500 compositions across major publishers including Alfred Music, Hal Leonard, and Heritage Music Press. His work spans sacred anthems, secular educational pieces, and pop arrangements, earning him seventeen ASCAP Composers Standard Awards and recognition from the American Choral Directors Association as one of 400 historically significant figures in American choral composition.

As Organist-Choirmaster at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Ohio, Moore continues to ground his composing in the real demands of working musicians and singers. His pieces appear regularly at state and regional contests, and have been featured at state, regional, national, and international music conventions. Beyond music, Moore maintains a competitive midget car racing operation, reflecting the same drive for excellence that characterizes his compositional output.
