About the Composer: Ralph Ford

Ralph Ford has composed and arranged over 250 works for orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band, with commissions performed by university, military, professional, community, and school ensembles internationally. His career spans multiple disciplines: he served 29 years in university music faculty teaching orchestration, arranging, theory, and applied brass; worked as an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music; and built a parallel career in media production that includes live broadcasts, television scoring, commercial composition, and news music packages for national network affiliates.

Ford began his professional arranging work at age fifteen in Panama City, Florida, and held the position of Director of Jazz Ensemble I at Troy State University for fifteen years starting in his sophomore year. He earned his Master of Science degree in 1988 while teaching full-time and has received both international and regional recognition for his work in advertising and animation.
