About the Composer: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped generations of young pianists through over 400 educational compositions published by Alfred Music. His work at the University of Montana for 24 years established him as a leading voice in piano pedagogy, and he later brought that same teaching insight to faculty positions at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge before relocating to New Mexico.

Beyond the studio, Alexander maintains an active performance schedule as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. He has served as collaborative artist for recognized soloists and chamber groups, made his Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1987, and continues to tour internationally conducting clinics and master classes at state and national music teachers conventions. His commissions from organizations across the country reflect the widespread respect he commands in music education circles.
