About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht has built a career writing choral music that speaks directly to singers and audiences alike. A conductor and clinician with decades of experience, she has led honor choirs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, bringing her distinctive approach to choral sound and movement to musicians across the country. Since 1987, she has received the ASCAP Special Music Award annually, and her catalog now includes over 600 published choral works alongside 75 larger musicals and songbooks.
For more than thirty years, Albrecht shaped choral music publishing as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at major educational publishers, most recently Alfred Music. She holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
