Suzuki Viola School

Teachers keep coming back to Suzuki Viola School, Volume 1: Viola Book as their entry point for beginning students, followed by Volume 2 for progression into slightly more advanced repertoire. The accompaniment books and CD recordings, including William Preucil's edition of Volume 2: Viola Book & CD, provide essential support for student practice and teacher demonstration. Doris Preucil is the founder and Director Emeritus of the Preucil School of Music and an honors graduate of the Eastman School of Music. A former violinist with the Washington National Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic, she brought decades of performance experience and teaching expertise from Western Illinois University, the University of Northern Iowa, and Interlochen Arts Camp to the development of these materials, shaping how generations of young viola students learn the instrument.

William Preucil has contributed extensively to the Suzuki Viola School series, with his edition of Volume 2: Viola Book & CD among the most widely adopted titles in the collection. His work carries forward the pedagogical approach established by the Preucil School, combining methodical skill building with accessible, engaging repertoire.
