Piano Methods

Teachers consistently return to Alfred's Basic Adult All-in-One Course, Book 1 and the Alfred's Basic Piano Library series (Books 1A, 1B, and 2), all by Willard A. Palmer. Music for Little Mozarts: Music Lesson Book 1, co-created by E. L. Lancaster and Gayle Kowalchyk, offers an alternative entry point for younger students.

Recent releases include Bluey: First Ever Piano Book by Joff Bush and holiday arrangements such as Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande (arranged by Ilya), Last Christmas by Wham!, and You Make It Feel Like Christmas by Gwen Stefani, plus John Debney's arrangement of the Elf main title.

Willard A. Palmer authored the foundational Alfred's Basic Piano Library and Adult Course series that anchor this collection. His prolific output of nearly 800 published works spans piano methods, solo pieces, and choral arrangements, translated into multiple languages and adopted by studios worldwide.

E. L. Lancaster and Gayle Kowalchyk both hold doctorates in piano pedagogy and currently teach at California State University, Northridge. They co-created Music for Little Mozarts, bringing classroom piano experience and formal training in pedagogical method to their approach.

Martha Mier joined Alfred Music in 1989 and has become one of today's most widely played educational composers. Her Jazz, Rags & Blues and Romantic Impressions series give students engaging repertoire beyond traditional method books.
