About This Collection

Description

Music for Little Mozarts Workbooks are the companion materials to Alfred's foundational preschool piano method, designed to reinforce early keyboard concepts through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Christine H. Barden, Gayle Kowalchyk, and E. L. Lancaster have created a four-book series that progresses logically from foundational note reading and rhythm work in Workbook 1 through increasingly complex musical ideas in subsequent volumes. These workbooks pair perfectly with the method books and give young students the hands-on practice they need to internalize early piano skills.

Highlights

Teachers consistently return to Music for Little Mozarts: Music Workbook 1, the entry point for most preschool and early elementary piano programs. The series maintains strong adoption across all four levels, with each workbook building naturally on the one before it.

Author Spotlight

Christine H. Barden is an internationally recognized authority on early childhood music and a co-author of the Music for Little Mozarts method itself. She teaches piano and directs preschool music classes in Reno, Nevada, where her students have won numerous prizes. Her direct classroom experience with young learners directly shapes the workbook content.

Dr. Gayle Kowalchyk teaches class piano, piano, and piano pedagogy at California State University, Northridge, and holds advanced degrees in both performance and pedagogy from Northwestern University and Columbia University. Her research and teaching focus on how students learn piano concepts at the earliest stages.

Dr. E. L. Lancaster served as Executive Editor of Piano for Alfred Music and was Professor of Music at the University of Oklahoma for nearly two decades, where he directed the group piano program and taught piano pedagogy. He brings institutional knowledge of what works in early music instruction at scale.
