Music for Little Mozarts Discovery Books

Teachers rely on the Music Discovery Books as their foundation for early piano instruction. The piano books in this series, particularly Book 1 and Book 2, are widely adopted in preschool piano classrooms. Each Discovery Book pairs with a companion activities guide that includes singing, listening, music appreciation, movement, and rhythm activities.

Christine H. Barden is an internationally recognized early childhood music specialist and co-author of Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts method. She teaches piano and composition in Reno, Nevada, and continues to lead Music for Little Mozarts preschool classes with her own students.

Gayle Kowalchyk teaches class piano and piano pedagogy at California State University, Northridge, where she brings decades of experience in piano performance and teacher training. Her work in piano pedagogy research and university-level instruction informs the pedagogical depth of these materials.

E. L. Lancaster served as Executive Editor of Piano for Alfred Music and is an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Northridge. His background as a university professor of piano pedagogy and coordinator of group piano programs shaped his approach to sequencing and early instruction.
