About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams built a career composing for young musicians with remarkable consistency and craft. Over 200 published works for band, orchestra, and choir earned him recognition across North America and internationally; he traveled as clinician and guest conductor to 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. He holds degrees from Eastern Washington University and spent years teaching elementary band in Washington schools, bringing direct classroom experience to every piece he wrote.

Beyond composition, Williams was an active performer on bassoon and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band. He co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method and served as Conductor and Artistic Director for the Spokane British Brass Band. His contributions to school music earned him the Gralia Competition award from the Western International Band Clinic and multiple ASCAP Special Awards, recognition of his sustained influence on music education.
