Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped choral music education for over three decades, first as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music, and throughout her career as a prolific composer with more than 600 choral works in print. Her contributions to the field extend beyond the page; she has conducted honor choirs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, and has been recognized annually by ASCAP for her Special Music Award since 1987.

Educated at Rollins College (B.A., 1976) and the University of Miami Frost School of Music (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), Albrecht has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her work with choral movement and her 75 published songbooks and musicals reflect a deep commitment to accessible, singable repertoire for young musicians. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
