Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American choral music through six decades of compositions and leadership in music education. An ASCAP Award winner since 1987, she has published over 600 choral works along with 75 larger-scale musicals and songbooks, many created during her tenure directing school choral and vocal publications for major educational publishers. Her work as a clinician and conductor has taken her to honor choirs nationwide, including performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center.

Albrecht's background uniquely combines music and theater; she holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her commitment to leadership extends beyond music into civic work, including service as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. She was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College in 2021.
