About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter built a 34-year legacy as Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Illinois, where his programs earned national recognition: the Marching Band won 16 Class 1A state championships, the Concert Band consistently achieved Superior ratings, and ensembles performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World. Beyond his high school tenure, he has conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, adjudicated extensively at the state level, and presented clinics on composition and music education throughout the Midwest.

His compositions for band and string orchestra circulate widely in educational settings, with many works appearing on state contest lists and in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA. Stalter earned his Bachelor of Music Education (cum laude) and Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele and trumpet with Richard Lehman of the United States Marine Band.
