About the Composer: JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall is a Texas-based composer and educator who earned his bachelor's degree in music education from the University of North Texas and a master's degree from Texas State University. His training in composition, conducting, and performance spans multiple teachers and institutions, and he has performed as a principal tubist with the Texas State Wind Symphony while maintaining an active presence in regional wind ensembles across Texas.

Hall's career as a band director spans eight years, during which his students consistently earned sweepstakes recognition at the Texas University Interscholastic League evaluations and achieved state-level honors. His 2018 non-varsity band at Griffin Middle School in Frisco became the first middle school ensemble in the district to receive the Citation of Excellence, recognizing it among the top two non-varsity bands statewide. His compositions have been selected for the Texas Prescribed Music List, earned recognition on the Bandworld Top 100 list, and his original work "Through the Storm" won the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band.
