About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon ranks among the most frequently performed composers of wind band repertoire globally. His works appear on contest and concert programs across continents, and he has conducted his own compositions in some of the world's most prestigious venues, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. Beyond his prolific output as a composer, Sheldon co-authored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP.

Sheldon maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands, and he regularly serves as a clinician at universities and state music education conferences. He has conducted and taught throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, bringing his expertise to ensembles at all levels. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020.
