Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has built a career spanning three decades as a choral composer, conductor, and clinician with a distinctive focus on integrating movement into choral performance. Her catalog includes over 600 published choral works alongside 75 musicals and songbooks, and she has received the ASCAP Special Music Award annually since 1987. She has conducted honor choirs at premier venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, establishing herself as a trusted voice in school choral music.

Albrecht served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications for major educational publishers, most recently Alfred Music, where she shaped the landscape of accessible choral literature for young singers. Her educational background spans music and drama—a B.A. from Rollins College and advanced degrees (M.A. in Drama and M.M. in Accompanying) from the University of Miami—reflecting the theatrical sensibility evident in her work. She has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College, and in 2021 received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both her undergraduate and graduate institutions.
