About the Arranger: Jay Althouse

Jay Althouse earned degrees in Music Education and Music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was later honored with the Distinguished Alumni award. His eight-year tenure as a rights and licenses administrator at a major educational music publisher gave him deep insight into how choral music reaches classrooms and concert halls worldwide.

With more than 800 compositions in print across all choir levels, Althouse has established himself as one of the most performed contemporary choral arrangers in the English-speaking world. He holds membership in ASCAP and is a consistent recipient of their Special Award. Beyond composing and arranging, he has collaborated with his wife Sally K. Albrecht on children's musicals and vocal collections, co-authored influential pedagogical resources like The Complete Choral Warm-up Book and Accent on Composers, and contributed scholarly work to the Folk Art Society of America. He currently resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
