Andy Beck

Andy Beck directs choral publications at Alfred Music and has established himself as one of the most performed contemporary choral composers, with over 450 works spanning octavos, vocal resources, and children's musicals in current circulation. His influential pedagogical publications, among them Sing at First Sight and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique, have shaped how singers develop literacy and technique in rehearsals across the country.

Beyond the page, Beck is a sought-after guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician who has worked with honor choirs and all-state groups throughout the Southeast and beyond. He holds degrees in music education from both Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University, and his commitment to choral artistry and music literacy shows in every piece he writes. When not composing, Beck performs as a tenor with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and continues studio work he has maintained with Alfred Music since 1992.
