About the Composer: Andy Beck
Andy Beck serves as Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music, where he has cultivated a catalog of over 450 choral works, vocal resources, and children's musicals. His influence extends well beyond the publishing office: he is an active guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout the United States and internationally, and has been commissioned to conduct honor choirs and all-state ensembles across the Southeast.
Beck holds degrees in Music Education from both Ithaca College (Bachelor's) and Northwest Missouri State University (Master's). A trained tenor, he remains active as a performer with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and brings his performance experience directly into his compositional and pedagogical work. His published vocal resources, including Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique, reflect his deep commitment to music literacy and choral artistry. Since 1992, he has also served as a studio singer for Alfred Music recordings.
