About the Author: Janet Gardner

Janet Gardner studied music education at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and spent 33 years teaching elementary general music in Montevideo, Minnesota. Her work as an educator earned her recognition as the 1995 Minnesota Music Classroom Teacher of the Year, and she brought her expertise to workshops, clinics, and conventions across the United States and Canada.

Gardner has composed numerous musicals and choral works published by Alfred Music, drawing on her deep understanding of what engages young singers and student performers. Beyond the classroom, she has served her community as a church musician, director of an ecumenical contemporary music ensemble, and board member of the Minnesota Valley Community Concert Association. She continues to compose in Montevideo, where she resides.
