About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter built a 34-year legacy as Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Eureka, Illinois, where his ensembles earned consistent Superior ratings at IHSA contests and his Marching Band secured 16 Class 1A state championships. His groups performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World, and he has since maintained an active schedule conducting All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, as well as numerous honor and district ensembles across the Midwest.

Beyond the podium, Stalter has established himself as a prolific composer and arranger whose wind band and string orchestra works are performed internationally and appear regularly on state festival and contest lists. Several of his compositions are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA, a widely respected educational resource. He holds degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele and trumpet with faculty associated with The President's Own United States Marine Band.
