About the Composer: Brad Ciechomski

Brad Ciechomski

Brad Ciechomski directs the bands at Harrison Middle School in Yarmouth, Maine, where he earned Teacher of the Year honors in 2005, 2006 and was recognized as one of just 51 American recipients of the 2008 Star of Teaching award. He conducts four concert bands and three jazz ensembles there while maintaining an active career as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor throughout New England's festival circuit.

Composition study with Andrew Boysen Jr. at the University of New Hampshire shaped Ciechomski's voice as a writer for young musicians. His commissions span all levels from elementary through college, and his work has been featured at MENC's national convention. Beyond the page, he performs as a freelance drummer with artists across the region and has shared stages with jazz luminaries including Clark Terry, Mel Tormé, Bob Mintzer, and others.
