About the Author: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped educational piano music since 1986, when he began his prolific partnership with Alfred Music Publishing. Over four decades, he has composed and arranged more than 400 works for students at every level, establishing himself as one of the most widely performed composers of pedagogical piano literature in the world. His career spans both academia and performance: he taught piano pedagogy for 24 years at the University of Montana, served on the faculty at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge, and has maintained an active schedule as a recitalist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist with internationally recognized soloists.

Beyond composition, Alexander has been an influential clinician at state and national music teacher conventions and has served as a commissioned composer for numerous organizations. His work has taken him across the globe; he has performed recitals and conducted masterclasses in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, and India. He now resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he continues composing and touring for Alfred Music Publishing.
