About the Composer: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped educational piano pedagogy for decades through his prolific output of carefully crafted student repertoire. Since connecting with Alfred Music Publishing in 1986, he has composed and arranged over 400 works that serve students across all levels, establishing himself as one of the most trusted voices in piano education. His teaching career spanned 24 years at the University of Montana, where he directed the piano department and taught applied study, class piano, and pedagogy before transitioning to private instruction and faculty roles at California State University campuses.

Beyond the studio, Alexander maintains an active presence as a clinician at state and national music teachers conventions and has served as a collaborative musician with recognized soloists and chamber ensembles. His work has been commissioned by numerous organizations, and his engagement with the international music community extends from judging national competitions in India to conducting masterclasses and performing recitals across Southeast Asia and East Asia. He currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he continues composing and touring on behalf of Alfred Music.
