About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall is a Texas-born composer and educator with deep roots in wind band excellence. He earned his Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of North Texas and his Master's from Texas State University, studying composition under Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds, and conducting with Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty. His eight years directing band have yielded consistent sweepstakes recognition at Texas UIL evaluations, including the distinction of leading the first middle school band in Frisco ISD history to win the State Citation of Excellence in Class A.
As a performer, Hall's credentials span principal tuba with the Texas State Wind Symphony, membership in the North Texas Wind Symphony and 3 O'Clock Lab Band, and four consecutive Texas All-State selections (2007, 2010), including principal 1st-chair jazz bass trombone statewide. His compositions have been featured on the Texas Prescribed Music List, J.W. Pepper's Editor's Choice collection, and Bandworld's Top 100, with "Silver Fanfare" winning the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares and "Through the Storm" earning the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize.
