Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American choral music for over three decades as a composer, conductor, and advocate for movement-integrated singing. Her catalog exceeds 600 published choral works alongside 75 songbooks and musicals, earning her consecutive ASCAP Special Music Awards since 1987. She served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music, where she guided the development of countless pieces now sung in schools nationwide.

Albrecht's experience extends across the country's most prestigious venues. She has conducted honor choirs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, bringing her distinctive approach to festivals and clinics. She holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976) and the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. In 2021, both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College recognized her with Distinguished Alumna Awards.
