Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American choral music for over three decades as a composer, conductor, and clinician with a distinctive focus on integrating movement with singing. Her catalog of more than 600 published choral works and 75 musicals and songbooks reflects her deep understanding of what works in rehearsal and performance, earned through decades leading honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Since 1987, she has received annual ASCAP Special Music Awards in recognition of her prolific output.

Albrecht's career spans both the academic and publishing worlds. She served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music and previously taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her formal training includes a B.A. in Music and Theater from Rollins College (1976), an M.A. in Drama from the University of Miami (1977), and an M.M. in Accompanying from the University of Miami (1979). In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
