Sherri Porterfield

Sherri Porterfield directs choirs at Cedar Park Middle School in Cedar Park, Texas, and has previously taught in Missouri and Kansas. Her students have earned numerous first-place and sweepstakes awards at competitions and performed at state music educators conventions. She has served as an adjunct assistant professor of music education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and has worked as a clinician and guest conductor with honor choirs across the United States.

With over 175 published choral compositions to her name, Porterfield has maintained an active composition career since 1997, earning yearly ASCAP awards for her writing. Her music appears in catalogs from Alfred Music Publishing and other major publishers. A University of Memphis graduate (B.S.E. in music education) and University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory alumna (Master of Music in choral conducting), she has been recognized four times by Who's Who Among America's Teachers and holds memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, and ASCAP.
