About the Composer: Kris Berg

Kris Berg directs the jazz program at Collin County Community College in Texas and holds degrees in jazz studies from the University of North Texas. His ensembles have earned multiple invitations to perform at Montreux, and he founded both the Collin Jazz Fest and the Texas All-Star Jazz Camp. Berg's arrangements have circulated globally through recordings and performances.

As a prolific composer for Belwin Jazz and Alfred Publishing, Berg has written charts performed by some of the field's most respected musicians, including Kurt Elling, Randy Brecker, Peter Erskine, and Clark Terry. He authored the influential method book Bass Lines in Minutes and remains active as a clinician and artist for Yamaha Corporation of America.
