About the Composer: Lisa Longe
Lisa Longe earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, followed by a Master's in Christian Spirituality from Fordham University. She has spent more than two decades teaching music in Schenectady City Public Schools in Upstate New York and currently resides in Albany with her family, which includes two teenage children, two dogs, a bird, and a gecko.
Longe began her career teaching general music before transitioning to full-time instrumental band, where she discovered her passion for placing instruments in students' hands for the first time. Yet she remains equally devoted to choral music, serving as accompanist for school choirs and believing deeply that no sound rivals the beauty of children singing together. Her compositions and arrangements reflect this dual commitment to fostering young musicians at every stage of their musical journey.
