Why we love this

This sequel expands the original concept with nine diverse holiday songs that work equally well as standalone pieces or as a fully staged 35-minute musical. The inclusion of complete choreography and an optional script transforms what could be a simple concert set into an engaging theatrical experience, making it genuinely fun to rehearse and perform rather than just another Christmas medley.

What to expect

Bright, playful, and thoroughly festive, these arrangements capture the joy of holiday classics while keeping the energy high and the musicality genuine. The 2-part writing never feels constrictive; instead, it allows young singers to add their own enthusiasm through movement and character without vocal strain.

Who it's for

Elementary and middle school choirs in grades 3-8 will find these arrangements accessible and engaging, whether your program performs a full concert set or stages the complete musical. Teachers working with developing singers benefit from the flexibility to use individual songs as warm-ups, concert fillers, or focal points of a seasonal program.

How to get the most out of it

  • Explore the choreography early in rehearsal. Even if you choose not to perform the full staged musical, incorporating movement brings energy to these familiar songs and keeps younger singers engaged through repetition.
  • Use the recorded accompaniment to establish tempos and style during sectional rehearsals, then gradually build independence so singers aren't dependent on the track during performance.
  • Balance the lighter novelty pieces like 'All I Want Is . . . Nuttin'!' with the more lyrical arrangements such as 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' to create dynamic contrast across the full program.
  • Rehearse the 2-part texture in context rather than parts in isolation. These arrangements are designed to blend quickly, so singing both parts together from early on builds confidence and musicality.

How to use it

Stage the full 35-minute musical as your winter concert centerpiece, or mix and match individual titles across multiple programs throughout the season. The reproducible format and optional soda-shop setting make it ideal for school assemblies, holiday festivals, or community performances where accessibility and fun matter as much as polish.

Skills your students will build

  • Singing in 2-part harmony with diction clarity in ensemble settings
  • Coordinating vocal performance with choreographed movement
  • Maintaining pitch and blend in upbeat, rhythmically driven arrangements
  • Building confidence as performers through character and storytelling
  • Reading and interpreting stage directions and musical cues in a theatrical context
