About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter spent 34 years as Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Illinois, where he built a program with a statewide reputation for excellence. His marching band earned 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert band consistently received Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his ensembles performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Walt Disney World, and multiple bowl game festivals. He was inducted into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.

As a guest conductor, Stalter has led All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware along with numerous honor and district ensembles across the region. He regularly adjudicates solo, ensemble, and large group competitions, and has presented clinics on composition, conducting, and music education at state and regional conferences. His compositions for band and string orchestra appear on contest and festival lists nationwide and are featured in the GIA publication Teaching Music Through Performance in Band. Stalter earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele.
