About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter spent 34 years leading the band program at Eureka High School in Illinois, where he built ensembles known for consistent excellence across multiple large group competitions and festival circuits. His concert band earned Superior ratings at IHSA contests while his marching band claimed 16 Class 1A state championships; his groups performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Disney World, and earned festival titles at the Cotton and Liberty Bowls. Beyond his tenure at Eureka, he has guest conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, adjudicated and clinicked extensively throughout the Midwest and beyond, and earned induction into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.

Stalter holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied with Richard Lehman (Solo Cornet of The President's Own United States Marine Band) and James Buckner. His compositions for band and string orchestra now reach educators and students worldwide, with many works appearing on state contest lists and in the GIA publication Teaching Music Through Performance in Band.
