About the Composer: Scott Watson

Scott Watson brings three decades of classroom experience to his work as a composer and educator. After leading the high school band program at Parkland School District in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and later directing the district's elementary band and strings initiative, he joined Cairn University as Associate Professor of Music, where he continues to shape the next generation of music educators.

With over 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles, Watson has established himself as a composer whose voice reflects deep knowledge of both contemporary classical music and the practical realities of school music programs. His works have been performed at major venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. Beyond composition, Watson is an exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications, a frequent guest conductor for festival bands, and the author of Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011).
