About the Composer: Patti Drennan

Patti Drennan

Patti Drennan studied music education at Oklahoma State University and earned her graduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. She spent 28 years directing choral ensembles in Norman Public Schools, first at West Mid-High School (where she earned Teacher of the Year) and later at Norman High School, where her four choirs consistently earned superior ratings. In 2004, she received the Director of Distinction Award from the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association.

Drennan has composed and arranged over 425 choral octavos for major publishers, with sales exceeding two million copies. She has clinicked in 19 states and Canada, adjudicated choral competitions across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas, and served as music and worship arts director at First Baptist Church in Norman for nearly a decade. She continues to write, arrange, lead music reading sessions for publishers, and direct composer weekends for churches throughout the United States and Canada.
