Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht brings three decades of experience shaping choral music education, having served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at major educational publishers including Alfred Music. Her catalog spans over 600 published choral works and 75 larger musicals and songbooks, earning her recognition as an ASCAP Special Music Award recipient every year since 1987. She has conducted honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, establishing herself as a clinician and advocate for choral movement as an essential teaching tool.

Albrecht holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught in university music departments at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her contributions to music education leadership have been recognized with the Omicron Delta Kappa Society's "Pillar of Leadership" award and Distinguished Alumna Awards from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, composer and arranger Jay Althouse.
