About the Composer: William Owens

William Owens brings three decades of classroom experience to his compositional work. A VanderCook College of Music graduate and retired Texas band director, he has built a catalog exceeding 300 works for concert band, string orchestra, and small ensembles since 1993. His music appears on required lists across the country and has become standard repertoire in young band programs.

Owens is a member of ASCAP, the Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. He has received commissions from South Plains College, the American Bandmasters Association, and Phi Beta Mu, along with the Texas Bandmasters Association's Meritorious Achievement Award. Now based in Fort Worth, he remains active as a clinician and conductor throughout North America.
