About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter built a legendary band program at Eureka High School in Illinois, where he directed for 34 years. His Marching Band captured 16 Class 1A state championships, while his Concert Band consistently earned Superior ratings at IHSA contests. His ensembles performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World, and he was inducted into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.

Beyond the high school podium, Stalter has guest conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, led numerous honor bands across the region, and maintained an active schedule as an adjudicator and clinician. His compositions for band and string orchestra are performed nationwide and appear on state contest lists; several are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA. He holds degrees from Illinois State University: a Bachelor of Music Education (cum laude) and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance, where he studied with faculty including members of the President's Own United States Marine Band.
