About the Composer: Vicki Tucker Courtney

Vicki Tucker Courtney began piano studies at age four and went on to earn extensive training in both performance and choral accompaniment at North Texas State University. That foundation shaped a prolific career as a composer and arranger working across choirs, piano, handbells, and solo voice. She has received multiple ASCAP Plus Awards and studied composition under the mentorship of Dove Award winner Mark Hayes. By 2009, she had published 100 titles; by 2017, that number had grown to over 350.

Courthey maintains an active teaching studio in Columbia, Tennessee, where she tutors students in piano and composition while continuing to compose and arrange. Her work has appeared in both traditional and contemporary worship settings, and her prolific output reflects a deep commitment to creating accessible, expressive music for singers at all levels.
